Mikel Arteta believes Bukayo Saka “can become much better” after Arsenal’s 1-0 victory against Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League.
Saka scored Arsenal’s only goal in the game, with his toe-poked effort coming off a defender before ricocheting back off his chest into the back of the net.
The England international has now scored three goals in his last two appearances and although Arteta was full of praise for the 21-year-old, he still believes there’s room for improvement in his performances.
When asked if Saka is getting better, Arteta said to BT Sport: “Yes, but again he can become much better.
“He had moments in the game where he was really good, other moments in the game where he can improve and demand more from himself. Especially in defensive moments that allowed the left-full back to press the play and break our press too easily.
“So, a lot of things to do.”
Saka has been impressive so far this season and has started every match in the Premier League under Arteta. He will be hoping to earn a place in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the World Cup this winter.
