Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni is an injury doubt ahead of next month’s Champions League final.

Tchouameni sustained a stress injury to his left foot during Wednesday’s semi-final second-leg win over Bayern Munich, during which he was withdrawn in the 69th minute.

Madrid estimate that the 24-year-old has a “20 per cent” chance of making the final, which will take place on June 1.

The club add that they believe Tchouameni will be fine to participate in this summer’s European Championship, with France’s first group game coming against Austria on June 17.

Before the Champions League final, Madrid face Alaves, Villarreal and Real Betis in their remaining La Liga fixtures, having already been crowned champions last weekend.

Madrid beat Bayern 2-1 at the Bernabeu on Wednesday (agg 4-3), thanks to two late goals from substitute Joselu. Alphonso Davies had given Bayern the lead in the 68th minute.

The win means Madrid will face Borussia Dortmund in the final at Wembley Stadium, with the German side beating Paris Saint-Germain 2-0 on aggregate in the other semi-final.

Tchouameni has been a regular fixture in Carlo Ancelotti’s team this season, missing only a handful of games due to injury in November and December.

The Frenchman has at times been called on to play at centre-back amid injuries to Eder Militao and David Alaba, but the majority of his minutes have come as a defensive midfielder.
