The Georgian footballer Khvicha Kvaratskhelia landed in Napoli this season and it has taken him little time to become the sensation of a team that frightens others in the Champions League.
The 21-year-old winger has already scored eight goals in 17 games (all competitions) for Napoli to top the Serie A standings and advance to the last 16 as Group A leaders, ahead of Liverpool.

Kvaratskhelia‘s statements before signing for the Italian club have come to light.
« My biggest dream is to win the Champions League with Real Madrid. I’ve been a Real Madrid fan since I was a child. With my brothers, we were always watching their games, » he said, declaring his absolute love for the club.
They compare him to Maradona
The Georgian star has already earned the nickname ‘Kvaradona‘ among Napoli fans.
« Our Georgian immigrants living in Naples say that, as Georgians, we get pizza there because of Kvara. In Maradona’s city, everyone loves Kvara. They wear his jerseys, » said Georgian journalist Edo Badalashvili during an interview with CNN Sport.
In the same interview, Euan Burns from Total Italian Football made a comparison with the multitude of attributes that a striker like Erling Haaland.
« And to me, Kvaratskhelia feels almost like a winger version of that, » Burns said, « where he’s not ridiculously tall, but he’s already scored at least one header.
« He’s frighteningly quick with or without the ball.
« He’s got incredible feet, but also he’s very strong and I think that’s what sets him apart from a player like [Lorenzo] Insigne who is incredible with the ball at his feet and can shoot from anywhere, but he wasn’t a particularly strong player; he could get shrugged off the ball by people.
« But Kvaratskhelia is shrugging defenders off the ball. »
