Chelsea have still not made a breakthrough in their move for Benfica’s Enzo Fernandez.
The Stamford Bridge club are not willing to go above Fernandez’s €120million clause, with the structure and terms of the deal key.
Chelsea are continuing to monitor all available options for one or two permanent moves now or in the summer. January signing Andrey Santos, 18, can play at No 6, is the captain of Brazil’s Under-20s and is highly sought after.
Chelsea have agreed personal terms with Fernandez for a long-term deal and Chelsea is the 22-year-old’s choice despite rival interest.
But there is no club deal as things stand.
Jorginho’s switch to Arsenal is independent of any deal for Fernandez.
