Having put an end to their wait for a first Champions League title last season, Manchester City were widely tipped to defend their crown this term.
And, so far, they have only strengthened their claim as tournament favourites with eight wins from eight matches.
They are the only team with a 100 per cent record in this season’s competition and look in typically imperious form.
The Premier League champions scored exactly three goals in each of their group-stage fixtures and did the same in both legs of their last-16 tie against Copenhagen. But only one clean sheet might worry Pep Guardiola as they look ahead to a tougher test in the quarter-final.
