Thomas Tuchel believes Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga titles hopes are over following Saturday’s two-goal defeat at home to Borussia Dortmund.

Karim Adeymi opened the scoring for Dortmund in the 10th minute and Julian Ryerson’s strike in the 83rd minute sealed the points, to secure Dortmund’s first league win away at Bayern since April 2014.

The result leaves Bayern 13 points behind Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen with seven rounds of action remaining in the season.

Tuchel responded, when asked by Sky Germany if the title race was over for Bayern following the defeat: “Yes, of course. This is clear. Naturally, I have no hope anymore. No no no.

“After today’s game I do not need to tell you anything more. How many points behind are we? 13?”

Tuchel, who is leaving Bayern at the end of the season, added: “Congratulations to Leverkusen.”

Xabi Alonso’s Leverkusen remain unbeaten across all 39 of their matches to date this term, winning 34 games and drawing five, following Saturday’s late 2-1 win at home to Hoffenheim.

Maximilian Beier’s first half goal for the visitors had appeared to be ending Leverkusen’s season-long unbeaten run before Robert Andrich equalised in the 88th minute and Patrik Schick won the game two minutes later.
