Erik ten Hag says he has “drawn a line” under his differences with Jadon Sancho after the Manchester United winger returned to first-team training.

Sancho, 24, returned to the club’s first-team facilities in July for the first time since being exiled from the first team by Ten Hag following a defeat at Arsenal in September 2023.

Sancho joined Borussia Dortmund on loan in January and went on to make 21 appearances in all competitions — including the Champions League final.

He returned to Carrington in the second week of July and held a positive meeting with Ten Hag before resuming training with team-mates.

“Yeah, as we said, we’ve drawn the line,” Ten Hag said on the subject of whether Sancho has a future at Old Trafford.

“Manchester United need good players and Jadon is a good player. We have drawn that line and we move on.”

When asked whether Sancho’s return to training could represent a fresh start for the winger, Ten Hag reiterated: “We’ve drawn the line. We move on.”

Sancho did not travel for the first game of the team’s pre-season — against Rosenberg in Norway on Monday, July 15 — having started his fitness ramp-up later than others.

Sancho’s contract at Old Trafford runs until June 2026, with United holding an option of extending it to 2027.

He has made 82 appearances for United over his three years at the club, scoring 12 goals.
