Harry Kane is fit for Bayern Munich’s crunch game against Borussia Dortmund — but captain Manuel Neuer will not be available.

Kane, 30, missed England’s friendlies against Brazil and Belgium during the international break due to an ankle problem, while Neuer, 37, withdrew from the Germany squad after sustaining a left adductor injury in training.

“Harry Kane trained fully with the team yesterday,” Bayern head coach Thomas Tuchel confirmed on Friday. “He’s feeling good and will play.

“Manuel Neuer, Aleksandar Pavlovic and Raphael Guerreiro won’t play. Sacha Boey suffered an injury this week. All four are therefore out.

“King(sley Coman) is a key player for us and he will be part of the matchday squad. Serge Gnabry is also back in the team. Both are important players for us. They both work hard in training, so I have no doubts about their quality.”

Kane’s fitness will be a boost to Bayern ahead of Der Klassiker, with the Englishman having scored 37 goals in 35 games for the Munich side since his summer arrival from Tottenham Hotspur.

Coman, meanwhile, has missed Bayern’s last nine matches with a knee injury, while Gnabry had only just returned to the squad before the international break having been absent for 13 games.

Neuer only returned to action in October after fracturing his leg while skiing in December 2022. Sven Ulreich, the 35-year-old former Stuttgart goalkeeper, stood in for Neuer while he was injured but had returned to a No 2 role since the club captain’s return. Israel international Daniel Peretz is Bayern’s other senior goalkeeper but the 23-year-old has only played once for the Munich side since his summer move from Maccabi Tel Aviv and has spent most of 2024 out with a knee issue.

Bayern go into the Dortmund game 10 points behind Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen with eight matches remaining. Dortmund, meanwhile, occupy fourth place and the final Champions League qualification spot and are one point ahead of RB Leipzig.

After hosting Dortmund, Bayern visit Heidenheim on Saturday, April 6 before travelling to Arsenal for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie on Tuesday, April 9.
