Crystal Palace have completed the signing of defender Maxence Lacroix from Wolfsburg.
The announcement comes as Palace have also reached an agreement to sign Trevoh Chalobah on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea.
The Athletic reported on Wednesday that Palace had agreed a fee for Lacroix. They will pay an initial €18million for the 24-year-old, with a potential €3m due in add-ons.

Palace have already seen one centre-back depart this summer with Joachim Andersen signing for Fulham in a deal worth up to £30m. The south London club have also rejected multiple bids for England international Marc Guehi, who captained the side during their Carabao Cup second-round win against Norwich City on Tuesday.

Palace moved to sign Chadi Riad earlier this summer but the Moroccan centre-back sustained an injury during the Norwich game and had to be taken off after only 10 minutes. Riad, 21, had previously made his Palace debut in the 2-0 home defeat by West Ham United. Chris Richards and Rob Holding are the other senior centre-backs in Oliver Glasner’s squad.
Lacroix made 28 appearances for Wolfsburg last season and captained the side on occasion. He started their DFP-Pokal first-round win over TuS Koblenz earlier this month but was left out of the squad which lost 3-2 against Bayern Munich last weekend.
Lacroix joined Wolfsburg from Sochaux in his native France in 2020 and has made 130 appearances for the German team.
