Bayern Munich have confirmed that Alphonso Davies and Kingsley Coman sustained muscular injuries in Saturday’s Bundesliga victory over Heidenheim.

Davies completed the full 90 minutes for Vincent Kompany’s side, who won the match 4-2 at the Allianz Arena, while Coman was substituted off in second-half stoppage time for Arijon Ibrahimovic.

On Sunday, Bayern confirmed that both players had suffered torn muscle fibres and “will be sidelined for the time being”.

Davies, 24, has played 20 matches across all competitions this season including starting in each of the side’s five Champions League matches, while Coman, 28, has played in all 13 Bundesliga matches this term — although just six of those have been as a starter.

Davies is out of contract at Bayern at the end of the season, with Real Madrid among the club’s interested in the Canada international.

Bayern return to action on Tuesday with an away Champions League game against Shakhtar Donetsk, which will be played in Gelsenkirchen due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, before returning to Bundesliga action on December 14 with a trip to Mainz.
