Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Pascal Gross is close to completing a move to Borussia Dortmund.
The two clubs remain in talks over a deal worth in the region of £8million ($10.28m) to sign the 33-year-old, who has one year left on his contract.
The Athletic previously reported that Gross, who signed a contract extension with the club in April 2023, was in talks with Brighton over signing a new deal.
Brighton were hopeful of persuading the Germany international to stay at the club and work under new head coach Fabian Hurzeler.
Shortly after Brighton were promoted to the Premier League in 2017, Gross joined the club from German club FC Ingolstadt 04.
During his seven years at Brighton, he established himself as one of the club’s most dependable and versatile players.
He has scored 32 goals and provided 52 assists in 261 games, while being deployed in several different roles including right-back, left-back, on either wing, and in central midfield.
His form helped earn his first call-up to the German national team in September 2023. He has since played eight times for his country, including an appearance off the bench during the European Championship earlier this summer.
