The biggest clubs in European football could line up markedly differently by the start of the 2024/25 campaign, with Man United likely to undergo the biggest transformation.
Under Erik ten Hag this season the Red Devils have flattered to deceive, though their epic win over arch rivals Liverpool in the FA Cup gave a timely reminder as to how good the Dutchman’s team can be when they dig in to get the job done.
It still may not be enough to save the manager’s skin as Sir Jim Ratcliffe looks to continue hitting all of the right notes at Old Trafford.
There are multiple issues for the new part-owners of the club to fix of course, not least by ensuring that the team that’s put out each week from the start of the new season is fit for purpose and not hanging on the coat tails of those clubs around them in the English top-flight.
Man United want Brahim Diaz
According to HITC, one player that is of interest to Man United is Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz, a player with a Man City past of course.
Although the report says that the player’s entourage have indicated that he has no wish to move on from the Santiago Bernabeu, once Kylian Mbappe arrives and Diaz sees that his time on the pitch will be massively restricted as a result, there’s every likelihood he’ll change his mind.
United will have to fight hard to land him too, given that Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal are also credited with an interest.
