Now that Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS group have been given the go ahead at Man United, it appears to be all systems go at the club.
There will be a number of areas in the football side of the club that need addressing, with the make up of the first team being a priority.
If the Red Devils can boast a successful squad, everything else should follow. Sponsors will want to be associated with this storied club once more and other opportunities will present themselves.
To that end, United have to be busy – but diligent – in the upcoming summer transfer window.
There are likely to be plenty of agents pushing their clients forward in the hope of a big pay day, with the club needing to be astute in their purchases in certain areas.
A quality central defender remains a priority, and according to AS (h/t Fichajes), United see Lille’s brilliant 18-year-old, Leny Yoro, as that player.
Yoro is carving out a real reputation for himself in Ligue Un, with his mixture of defensive and technical skills enough to have Europe’s great clubs, including Real Madrid, sniffing around.
Clearly, United need to present an important proposal and also convince the player that their project is worth being a part of.
As a priority capture, Yoro is the first piece in the jigsaw for the new part-owners.
