Liverpool fans are convinced that superstar Trent Alexander-Arnold has dropped a massive hint about his future at the club.
In their first season under new manager Arne Slot, Liverpool are enjoying a great start to the season which has left them top of the table in both the Premier League and the Champions League.
However, throughout the season one thing has put a dampener on Liverpool’s success, the ongoing contract negotiations between the club and star players Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah.
While Salah and Van Dijk have been quite outspoken about their hopes for the future, Alexander-Arnold has rarely addressed his negotiations with the club, but fans are convinced he has dropped a huge hint in a new interview.
As it stands, the 26-year-old’s current deal with the Merseyside club is set to expire in the summer, allowing him to move elsewhere on a free transfer should he wish to do so.
And, in a new interview with Sky Sports, the defender might have dropped a hint about what he plans to do regarding his contract.
While discussing playing under Slot, he said: “I feel like I’m going to get better and improve and learn so much in such a short space of time and just keep on learning.”
Although his comments about the Dutch manager will no doubt please Liverpool fans, some are concerned about one part of what Alexander-Arnold said.
Reacting to the Liverpool star’s comment on X, one fan wrote: “Short space of time! So he doesn’t intend to spend so much time with him I see.”
While one agreed, adding: “Such a short space of time? This better not what I’m thinking
However one fan urged their peers to relax, writing: “Everyone trying to analyse his words, people should chill and let everything play out whatever happens with his contract will be the best for both sides.

“I never have any negative feelings about his contract extension hope am right.”
Throughout the season, Alexander-Arnold has remained tight-lipped about his contract negotiations, after pledging to keep the discussions behind closed doors earlier this season.
Speaking to The Athletic in September, he said: “I have been at the club 20 years now, I have signed four or five contract extensions and none of those have been played out in public – and this one won’t be either.
“I want to be a Liverpool player this season [as a minimum] is what I will say.”
