Manchester United fans are concerned about what Marcus Rashford did on the team’s bus after the Red Devils’ 2-1 win against Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

Rashford, 27, started the game in Czechia but was replaced by Rasmus Hojlund on 56 minutes, before the Dane scored twice to secure United’s first European away win in 20 months.

Earlier this week, reports in The Telegraph suggested that United are “concerned about Rashford’s lifestyle off the pitch, and he is no longer as focused on football as he should”.

It is unclear what the club’s official stance on the matter is, but the England international has already been linked with a move abroad with PSG and Saudi Arabian clubs rumoured to be interested.

Since penning a new five-year deal in the summer of 2023, the player has found it difficult to put together a consistently good run of form, which has seen him cut a dejected figure at times.

Now, footage has emerged from the aftermath of Thursday’s game appearing to show Rashford with his head placed on the back of the seat in front of him on the club’s coach.

Fans weighed in with their thoughts in the comments section of the video, which you can see below.

One supporter said: “Man, that’s really sad. Hopefully he can regain his form.”

Another added: “He’s just either asleep or on his phone.”

A third explained: “I ain’t ever giving up on this brother. Literally been seeing him every day since that first goal vs Midtjylland—he is the boy of Manchester.”

While a fourth commented: “He’s literally on his phone.”

Of course, the reason why he was doing this is unclear and doesn’t necessarily mean there’s cause for concern, as mentioned in the comments.

Rashford will likely feature in some capacity during Sunday’s Manchester derby against Manchester City at the Etihad.

Although he has scored just four times in 15 appearances for United this season, three of these strikes came since Ruben Amorim took charge – one against Ipswich and two against Everton.

The derby will no doubt bring back some great memories for the Red Devils’ academy product.

He has scored six times – including a wonder goal last season – in his 22 competitive appearances against the Premier League champions.
