Several Manchester United players could leave the club in the coming transfer windows – but Ruben Amorim would want to avoid losing two key men.

Amorim, 39, has had a mixed start to life at Old Trafford.

After winning two of his first three games, the Red Devils have hit a lull after losing 2-0 to Arsenal last week before being defeated 3-2 by Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford last Saturday.

This weekend, Amorim will experience his first Manchester Derby, with United set to take on Manchester City at the Etihad on Sunday afternoon.

The last time Amorim faced Pep Guardiola’s side, he was head coach of Sporting CP and saw his team thump the Premier League outfit 4-1 in Lisbon on November 5.

No doubt, the United boss will be planning for the weekend’s clash but may also be looking ahead to the upcoming January transfer window.

Earlier this week, reports from The Telegraph suggested United could be ‘open to selling’ Marcus Rashford amid concerns surrounding his ‘lifestyle choices’.

The Mail suggests a fee of around £40m could be enough for United to accept a bid for the England international.

But it is not just Rashford that could be shown the exit door at Old Trafford. A potential sale would represent ‘pure profit’ to help United fall in line with PSR regulations, given that the 27-year-old is an academy graduate.

The Mail’s report also suggests that another option would be to sell their “crown jewels”, Kobbie Mainoo or Alejandro Garnacho, but it is thought that the club would prefer to avoid this.

£52m summer signing Leny Yoro is also seen as a player who cannot be sold.

But the report explains how the club would “entertain offers” for virtually anyone in their squad at the right price.

Manuel Ugarte, Noussair Mazraoui, Matthijs de Ligt, Bruno Fernandes and Amad are said to be highly thought of by Amorim, but the Ivorian is one of several players who is out of contract in the summer.

Christian Eriksen, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton could also see their current deals run out, but Maguire could have United trigger a 12-month extension.
