Dana White has left fans excited after teasing a big announcement ahead of UFC 309.

This weekend, all eyes will be on the Madison Square Garden in New York City as UFC 309 takes centre stage.

Jon Jones will take on Stipe Miocic in the main event with Charles Oliveira fighting Michael Chandler on the co-main event.

There will also be a middleweight bout between Bo Nickal and Paul Craig. Viviane Araujo will fight Karine Silva, with Mauricio Ruffy and James Llontop rounding off the card.

During Thursday’s press conference, White was asked about UFC 310, which is due to take place in December at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Initially, Belal Muhammad was due to take on Shavkat Rakhmonov in the main event, but the American was forced to withdraw after suffering an injury.

When asked about the UFC 310 main event, White said: “We’ll announce it tomorrow. It’s gonna be good.”

Reacting on social media, fans think they have worked out what the announcement is going to be.

One fan said: “Its gonna be Shavkat vs Colby isnt it.”

Another tweeted: “I swear if it’s Shavkat Vs Colby.”

A third fan added: “Shavkat vs JDM or we riot. I don’t wanna see Colby anywhere near a title fight.”

Someone else wrote: “Shavkat vs Colby would be pretty funny. First live execution in UFC history. Most likely will be Shavkat vs JDM tho since Usman said he’s not taking it.”

A fifth commented: “We need Colby.”

Another fan said: “People think Colby is getting a main event?”

Speaking about Jones during the press conference, White also teased his potential next fight.

He said: “For anybody to say he’s ducking anybody, Jon Jones is like 37, 38 years old. He’s fought all the best in the world, in their prime, been doing it since he was 23 years old. He doesn’t duck. And he’s undefeated, he’s never lost a fight, which is unbelievable in like 16 years.

“If he doesn’t decide to retire, he absolutely, positively fights Aspinall.”
