Trevoh Chalobah has joined Crystal Palace from Chelsea on a season-long loan deal.
The 25-year-old will spent the 2024-25 campaign at Selhurst Park but The Athletic have reported that Palace will not have the option to make the loan permanent, after paying an undisclosed fee for the move.
He will bolster Oliver Glasner’s defensive options following Joachim Andersen’s move to Fulham with his move coming after Palace also signed defender Maxence Lacroix from Wolfsburg on deadline day.

The former England youth international is Palace’s seventh signing of the summer transfer window, following the arrivals of Chadi Riad, Daichi Kamada, Ismaila Sarr, Lacroix, Eddie Nketiah and Matt Turner.
“I’m delighted to join an ambitious club like Crystal Palace,” Chalobah said following his arrival. “I know some of the boys in the squad well and I’m looking forward to playing alongside them in front of the amazing support at Selhurst Park.”
Palace club chairman Steve Parish said of Chalobah: “Trevoh is a talented young man and when the opportunity to bring him to Palace for the season arose, we were determined to seize it. I’m delighted that he has joined us on loan, and we believe he will be a great addition.”
Chalobah, who signed a new long-term contract at Stamford Bridge in November 2022, leaves Chelsea on a temporary basis having been informed he was not in head coach Enzo Maresca’s plans for the new season.
Chalobah has fallen out of favour in recent seasons behind first-choice centre-backs Axel Disasi and Levi Colwill. Wesley Fofana is fit and available after missing last term through injury while Tosin Adarabioyo joined the club from Fulham earlier this summer.
He joined Chelsea as a nine-year old before progressing through the club’s academy. He made his first-team debut under former manager Thomas Tuchel, making 17 appearances with three goals during a breakout season in the 2021-22.
He has played 80 times for the club since then, scoring five goals in all competitions.
