Fenerbahce say they have given permission for Ferdi Kadioglu to travel to Brighton & Hove Albion for talks over his possible transfer.
The versatile left-back impressed for Turkey at this summer’s European Championship and has made over 200 first-team appearances for Fenerbahce.
Any Brighton move for the 24-year-old would come after the south coast club sanctioned left-back Valentin Barco’s season-long loan move to Sevilla.
Jack Hinshelwood started at left-back in the club’s opening day Premier League victory at Everton, after returning from three months out with a foot fracture.
Brighton also have left-back Pervis Estupinan to return to action, with the Ecuador international missing the start of the season due to an ankle injury.
On Friday night, Fenerbahce released a statement to say Kadioglu had been given permission to travel for talks over a Brighton move.

“Our player Ferdi Kadıoglu will travel to England with permission from our club to advance transfer negotiations with Brighton & Hove Albion FC, one of the Premier League teams, and to undergo a medical check-up,” the Fenerbahce statement read.
Kardioglu joined Fenerbahce from Dutch side NEC Nijmegen in 2018 and has gone on to make 203 appearances for the Turkish club, scoring 18 goals and providing 22 assists. He was part of the side that won the Turkish Cup in 2023.
Despite representing the Netherlands as a youth international in various age groups, Kadioglu made his debut for the Turkey national team in June 2022.
He has since earned 20 caps for Turkey, including playing all five games of Turkey’s Euro 2024 campaign where they reached the quarter-final stage.

Kadioglu was key in Turkey’s charge into the round of 16 at Euro 2024.
The full-back was an excellent passing outlet from the back for his nation, while also performing his defensive tasks admirably.
Kadioglu’s 87 per cent pass completion rate places him in the top quarter of full-backs in the tournament, while his 75 per cent accuracy in long passes ranks him in the top seven per cent.
He is also at the top of the list in key passes (3.3) and joint-top in shot-creating actions per 90, level with Joshua Kimmich on 4.3.
Defensively, Kadioglu won 87 per cent of his tackles and made 5.7 recoveries per 90.
Kadioglu also impressed for Fenerbahce last season, recording two goals and four assists in 44 matches across the Turkish league and Europa League.
The 24-year-old will likely be courted by several clubs given the diminished left-back market and his inherent potential.
