L’Equipe report Barcelona-PSG meeting to discuss Mbappe

As if the Kylian Mbappe soap opera hadn’t already reached fantasy proportions, a report published by L’Equipe on Monday morning has turned the plot upside down.

The French media outlet reports that Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain will meet in the next few hours to discuss the arrival of Kylian Mbappe in Catalonia. They will do so remotely.

The deal seems unfeasible given the financial situation in which the Catalan club is immersed, far from being able to reach the figures requested by the Parisian side for their star player. However, the Blaugrana could offer players in exchange and that would make the transaction cheaper.

At present, the operation does not seem at all feasible for the Catalans. It should not be forgotten that the club’s financial problems are so acute that they have not yet been able to register the renewed players or the three new additions of this summer, Ilkay Gundogan, Inigo Martinez and Oriol Romeu.

In addition, Al Hilal have made Nasser Al Khelaifi an offer of 300 million euros. This operation could be for just one year and would allow the player to leave for Real Madrid next season and the French club to charge a very high transfer fee.

Many entities have already asked for Mbappe, although they know that his incorporation is more than complicated. Manchester United, Chelsea, and even Tottenham in the Premier League, and in Italy, Inter and AC Milan… and now it seems that Barcelona have joined the long list.

Even so, Mbappe‘s future is still closer to Real Madrid than to Barcelona and Riyadh.
